実は、この排気音はマフラーに装着されているフラップで制御されており、これをコントロールする装置が流通しています。フラップ・コントローラーなどと呼ばれていて、マフラーの配線に足すだけでインストールはとても簡単です。付属するリモコンのスイッチを押せば、フラップを強制的に開いたり、閉じたりすることができます。

つまり、多くのオーナーさんがお使いになるコンフォート・モードでも、太いマフラーサウンドを聴くことができるようになります。また意図的に全閉したいときにも役に立ちます。（純正状態の C63S は全閉にすることができません。）車に設定されているモードとは関係なく、オーナーの意向を反映できる、最高のアイテムではないかと思います。

この製品を装着することによって生じるデメリットは、ほぼありません。ただ１つだけ注意いただきたい事柄があって、全閉状態のままアクセルを全開にして、エンジンに負荷を掛けてはなりません。これを実行すると明らかに苦しそうな排気音になり、エンジンに何らかの影響が生じる恐れがあります。その点だけ、ご注意をください。

I’m sure many of the owners of the Mercedes-AMG C63S (W205) are fascinated by that savage exhaust note. The exhaust noise emitted from the V8, 4 liter, twin turbo engine is the coolest and overwhelming point of any car sold at the same time. However, in the genuine state, you cannot listen unless you enter the sports mode.

Actually, this exhaust sound is controlled by the flap attached to the muffler, and devices that control this are on the market. It is called a flap controller, and it is very easy to install just by adding it to the wiring of the muffler. You can force the flaps to open and close by pressing the switch on the included remote control.

In other words, you will be able to hear the thick muffler sound even in the comfort mode that many owners use. It is also useful when you want to intentionally close it completely. (The genuine C63S cannot be fully closed.) I think it is the best item that can reflect the owner’s intentions regardless of the mode set in the car.

There are almost no disadvantages caused by installing this product. There is only one thing to note, you should not put a load on the engine by fully opening the accelerator while it is fully closed.
